One of the fastest growing segments of the state budget is corrections, according to a new report from the Connecticut Regional Institute for the 21st Century. The report provides a series of substantive, comprehensive, attainable recommendations to the State’s prison system to achieve the right balance between the cost of the system, imposing appropriate justice for criminal activity, and ensuring public safety.
